Polyquaternium-6 gathers electrolytes for the strong cation. It is clear to light yellow viscose liquid with a freezing point of -2.8℃, a specific weight is 1.04 g/cm3, and a resolve temperature is 280~300℃.

Polyquaternium-6 is easy to dissolve in water but not easy to combust. It has strong coagulate dint and good water solution stability. This polyquaternium doesn't become gel and keeps stable in the wide pH range. In addition, it has good anti-chlorine and high charge density. These characteristics make it become an ideal product for hair stems.

Polyquaternium-6 can also be applied in hair and skin care.

About liquid polyquaternium. It is more accurate to say that it is a water-soluble poly quaternary ammonium salt. A series of novel water-soluble poly quaternary ammonium salts were prepared by copolymerization of epichlorohydrin, dichloroethyl ether, and N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethylenediamine, methylamine, ethylamine, and dodecyl amine. The reaction synthesis yield is high, the reproducibility is good, and the post-treatment of the product is simple, so the industrial application prospect of the product is good.

Usage:

1. Polyquaternium-6 is a kind of homopolymer with high cationic activity. It can provide an excellent conditioning effect for hair even in low concentrations. In most shampoos, bleach, hair colorant, and hair spray, the concentration generally is 0.5%~1%.

2. Polyquaternium-6 can offer moist, glossy, and rich foam. It can make the wet hair more smooth for combing and the antistatic ability and give hair a smooth, silky, and lustrous touch.

3. Added into moisturizing cream, bath form, shaving cream, and deodorant, Polyquaternium-6 contributes to excellent skin feel. The suggested concentration is 1%~2%.

4. Polyquaternium-6 can improve dispersion, direct nature, and activity of the functional elements which is used in hair and skin care.

In the 《International Cosmetic Ingredient Dictionary and Handbook Twelfth (Edition (2008))》 published by CTFA in the United States, most cationic conditioning polymers are named polyquaternium-n. There may be similarities between this polyquaternium-n, but they are not very relevant.
